AUDEMARS PIGUET ROYAL OAK REF. 5402BA
The early 1970s marked a transformative era in the watch industry, with the introduction of the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak 5402. Launched in 1972 as the most expensive steel watch ever made, it broke conventions with its revolutionary design by Gérald Genta and unprecedented pricing for a steel sports watch. The Royal Oak’s unique features, including its octagonal bezel inspired by a scaphander diving helmet have made it for many a collectors dream.
This 5402BA has a very low serial making it one of the very first Yellow Gold Royal Oaks sold - Serial XX. The watch comes with an extra service dial as well as an Audemars Piguet “Certificate of Authenticity”.
