Auction Highlights - Monaco Legend Group Spring 2025

As we swung by Monaco to check out the steel 1518 - we got a sneak peak of the upcoming auction lots and selected some of our favourites to show. Below are my 5 favourite lots of the upcoming Spring auction and my very quick thoughts on them !

[]

The first watch is one that immediately took my breath away was this cloisonné enamel Rolex 6098 Ovettone. Honestly I don't think there's much to say about this one, it's just incredibly beautiful, very attractive cloisonné enamel dial in an oversized oyster case.. what's not to love ?

[]

The next star of the show that obviously got my heart pumping is the 1526 in rose gold with pink gold dial, what a looker ! The cyclops on the glass is one of the coolest things ever and gives the watch a really special aura. The 1526 is a very under appreciated watch in my opinion and I think the attention this watch will get will help bring the reference into the limelight.

Another Rolex ! Yes I know, surprising, but the dial and bracelet on this bubbleback were too cool to not feature in here. The expandable bracelet was so fun to play with, remarkably sturdy and really comfortable on the wrist. The gilt dial had a glow to it I've rarely seen on any other dial, an absolute gem !

[]

Some more cloisonné enamel ! Vacheron Constantin always get sidelined from big collector talks when it comes to vintage, mostly due to the lack of awareness, publicity and knowledge we collectively have about the brand. But when you think of the price of this compared to a 2481 Jungle for example - bargain !

[]

Of course I had to mention this one because I want to emphasize the fact that the 1526 is still relatively under the radar for many, many collectors. Think about the fact that the mythical 1518's little sister is currently trading for a similar price to a very nice 3940.. little odd to me. This one comes on a fun bracelet that isn't original to the watch but always cool to have - because when you're looking for one, you just can't find them !
